Take It to Market: Getting Your First Ten Customers
Launch day is when the real work starts. You already proved demand in the abstract. Now you need ten people who pay, use the product, and tell you what is missing.
How to get your first ten
Start with the same audience you tested against. They raised their hand once. Reach back out with a direct offer, not a generic announcement post. Personal outreach beats broadcast every time at this stage.
Your first ten customers usually come from one of these channels:
- Direct replies to the people who engaged during your demand test
- Warm introductions from people who already trust you
- A narrow community where the problem is already being discussed
Track who converts and why. Your first ten customers teach you more about positioning, pricing, and product gaps than any framework. Treat each conversation as data, not a victory lap.
What to do after customer ten
Once you have ten, look for patterns in why they bought. Double down on the message that worked, not the feature list you assumed would matter.
